The Donald Thomas Centre

Create CIC has been working with recent Falmouth Univeristy BA Architecture graduates Nicki and Julzs and University of Exeter Department of Renewable Energy Engineering students Maryam Alzadjani and Cal Watkins to develop concepts and proposals to transform the Grade 2* listed building into a state of the art, sustainable Contemporary Crafts Hub

Interiors

This exciting video showing how the building might look once the works are complete was done by

Maryam Alzadjali, Cal Watkins and the Desin Sostenadow team at the University of Exeter Department of Renewable Energy Engineering.

Community Mosaic

The existing dull grey pebbledash behind the iconic columns detracts from the imposing Greek Revival facade, so we are proposing a ceramic and glass mosaic, made in the CCCH by the people of Camborne, to welcome visitors to the building.

Gallery

The entrance hall will be opened up and transformed into a welcoming gallery and shop where objects and artifacts made at the CCCH can be displayed and sold.

Glass Studio

The light, open glass studio will contain a kiln room and cold working room, as well as a mezzanine above for jewellers' workspaces.

Pottery

A brand new, naturally lit, dedicated ceramics studio will be built to replace the low concrete extension to the side of the building.

Workshop Entrance

The ugly metal security doors on the side of the building will be replaced with glazed doors to allow light and direct access into the glass workshop.
