Creative Courses are back!

Red River community mosaic

It's all coming together! Thank you to everyone who came to our amazing community tile making day. Your tiles are starting to go up in the toilets and they look fantastic!

Camborne based mosaic artist Alec Rice has been busy tiling and we're sure you'll agree, the mosaic looks amazing! What a celebration of Camborne's rich industrial and cultural heritage, linked together by the Red River flowing around each cubicle, and punctuated by the ideas and personalities of people living in Camborne today.

We can't wait to share it with you and are planning a grand opening later in the year when everyone who has been involved can come and spot your tile and be proud of your amazing community.

Spring courses available to book!

Our ever popular beginners and returners courses are back from Monday 24 April. If you're just starting your creative journey, fancy branching out into a new medium, or want to brush up your skills these courses are for you. Choose fused glass or ceramics... or both!

Helen is running two exciting new courses from Thursday 27 April. In Glass Jewellery Meets Metal she will show you how to incorporate copper and silver into glass pieces, exploring a variety of different techniques, including piercing and cold working, to make a set of jump rings. And in Glass Powder Drawing you'll learn about stencilling and powder printer to create unique designs to incorporate into glass work.

If you've got your own ideas for projects but haven't the space or equipment then our studio time sessions are just what you need. Our expert tutors are on hand to assist and advise, and the cost includes firing of the piece you're working on in the session.

Trevithick Day at CREATE

The highlight of the Camborne social calendar, this year Trevithick Day is on Saturday 29 April and at Create CIC we're opening our doors for you to come and get involved. Come and try our cogs and wheels card making, transform a boring old jam jar into a beautiful storage vessel, and see how our wonderful Donald Thomas Centre building has transformed. We'll be open from 10am until 4pm so pop by and say hello!
