What's new at the Camborne Contemporary Craft Hub?

Glass - Ceramics - Jewellery

Glass!

Whether you're a complete beginner or have already done courses we have a fused glass course for you! On Monday evenings Helen will be running her ever popular beginner's course and on Monday afternoons she'll be running her returner's course again, revisiting the basics of health and safety, firing and working with different kinds of glass, concentrating on the exciting methods of slumping and draping.


Ceramics!

Jane will be running handbuilding ceramics courses for both beginners and intermediate. In the beginners course you will cover the basics of pinch, slab and coil construction, and work with various methods of decoration including texture, oxides, sgrafitto, marbling and glazing.


This term's intermediate class is Exploring Additions to Clay, where you can learn about colouring and adding organic material to your clay before using hand building techniques to achieve your own completely unique forms.


Jewellery!

We're excited to announce another new jewellery course! From Monday 28 February Deborah Rice will be running jewellery making for fun, including wire wrapping, silver clay and fused glass cabachon making.


Sally Caslake will be back with her popular silver clay jewellery making course. Over the course of six weeks you can make pendants, dangly earrings and more that you will texture, hand fire, and polish to perfection.


Barnabas Taylor also returns with his silver and copper jewellery course. Learn to make copper and silver* stacking rings, bangles and a pendants using the techniques of texturing, stamping, sawing, measuring, filing, soldering and polishing. *Copper is included in the course price and silver can be purchased separately.


Private workshops for groups and individuals!

Do you and a group of friends fancy learning a new skill and have some fun at the same time? Are you a professional artist wanting to upskill in a certain area? Does your community group want to do a festive creative activity together? Contact us to book an event, workshop or one to one session tailored to your individual needs.


Free courses and classes at the Camborne Contemporary Crafts Hub!

We have been working with various organisations to be able to offer free and subsidised places on our courses and classes. We have been running free Beating the January Blues glass and pottery classes in partnership with Seetec PLUSS for people in Camborne not currently in employment and also a FEAST and Volunteer Cornwall funded course for Disability Cornwall and Camborne Deaf Group. There are also a number of free and subsidised places for Camborne residents on all our courses and classes, subject to availability. Contact angela@createcic.co.uk to register.
